Bitstrips: Comic creator and so much more
Back in January 18th 2012, after potting around, looking for a comic creating site for a project I was doing for a communications class, I stumbled upon this lil site. Back then I was just coming off five years as an avid role player. Back then I played in something called OW or Online Wrestling. But we're not talking about that today.
Anyway, I found bitstrips and created a one off strip for a class project on work place safety or something and I found I liked what the site had to offer. I decided to sign up and see what I could do and after a few weeks I was engrossed in making strip after strip. I made a bunch of series. I'm not saying any were good, but I liked what I did. It gave me a way to scoop out the ideas from my mind and make room for new ones.
After a month or so, I started making friends. Bitstrips isn't just a site to create comic strips. Its also a community. Back when the site was in its early days, Bitstrips was a small group of people who grew close and from there it spread. Sadly I cant say I was around during the early days. People met and became close. Friends even. And in rare cases, such as mine, much more than that.
I continued creating strips (although now a days not as many as I started doing) and socializing with other BS'ers from around the world. The community that are the Bitstrips users are a great bunch. I'd be a little biased if I said there was one out there who I thought was the best but well, this is my blog so yeah.
About six months after I signed up with the site I met the lady who would become my wife. Any BS member who knows me, knows who I'm talking about. She was a member far longer than me. I could write a whole blog about her and hell, maybe I will some time.
Anyway, Bitstrips isn't just a site for creating comic strips...granted that's its thing but deep down, it's much more. It brings people together. Hell, I owe it for introducing me to the love of my life.
