Long before Professor Evil was a gleam in my creative eye. I drew a lot of superhero stuff. Marvel comics was a huge thing to me as a kid. With Iron Fist and The Punisher being my big two (With DC's Aquaman a close third). All three of which have parody doubles, in the world of Professor Dad. Like most kids back in the day, I drew short comic strips of my then favorite heroes. During the 90s I loved cartoons like Spider-man and The X-men. I used to get these (what we called in Ireland) maths copies for school and usually I'd have a couple extra that I'd fill up with my Spider-man/X-Men stuff. As the years went on, I'd gain a little more creativity, making my own characters up.
The first (which I surprisingly have 0 pictures of from back in the day) was Lizardman, who had lizard like qualities and a whip because why not? His costume however had nothing to do with lizards or reptiles in general. It was a generic red and grey costume.
By the time I was eighteen I had a (almost) fully fleshed out world. Characters, factions, relationships. A chart of the various gangs and so on. Even a (long) list of names for future characters. Joe Malone (Professor Evil) being one of the first.
Sadly no pictures with this From the Vault, however I'm currently searching through my old "archives" of drawings/writings/etc for the next installment. So keep you eyes peeled. It's coming soon. Honest.
